A meeting of the full Student Council, comprising of Captains and Vice Captains was held on Thursday 26 September. During this meeting, a brief presentation was given to outline the role and function of the Student Council. Class representatives are asked to gather and share the views of their class groups on areas that impact Student Wellbeing, Our School Environment and Our Learning.

Cian Pierce, acting Student Council President, gave a brief presentation on the role of the Irish Second Level Student Union (ISLSU) and the benefits of purchasing an iConnect Student Card www.studentcard.ie . A small group of Glanmire Community College students will attend the next regional meeting of the ISLSU, which will be held in City Hall on 22 October.

Weronika Wierzbicka, Transition Year Student), also spoke about her involvement in the Green Schools Committee to promote greater environmental responsibility. She also spoke about her involvement in the Climate Action Campaign and her passion to promote sustainable living.
