GCC Senior Cycle Programme

GCC regenerates its Subject Options every year in an effort to ensure students have the best chance of being offered their preferred subjects for Senior Cycle. GCC currently offers 18 option subjects at Senior Cycle and students must choose 4 options subjects in addition to the 3 compulsory Leaving Certificate Exam Subjects Irish, English & Maths. Our dedicated Subject Options Coordinator is responsible for managing the options process and ensuring the optimum outcome for the vast majority of students. In addition the core compulsory Leaving Cert subjects [Irish, English & Mathematics] are blocked together to promote, where possible, homogenous groups at Higher and Ordinary level and to faciliate movement between levels as appropriate.
