Amsterdam’s legendary Concertgebouw

Concertgebouw Orchestra Young is the international youth orchestra catering for young people aged fourteen to eighteen. Since its successful launch in 2019, Young has gained wide acclaim for its uniqueness and innovation. After an intensive summer programme, they will be presenting themselves as a youth orchestra at The Concertgebouw following onto to the Elbphilharmonie in Hamburg on Saturday.

Under the direction of Gustavo Gimeno, they will be performing a recent work by rising star Francisco Coll, followed by two masterpieces from the orchestral repertoire: the Beethoven Violin Concerto with Isabelle Faust as soloist and Dvořák’s Symphony No. 9 (‘From the New World’). Afterwards, the young people, like those who participated the first two summers Young was held, will return to their home countries as active ambassadors for classical music. The very future of music will be on stage this evening. It promises to be a very special experience, both for the musicians themselves and for audiences.
