Dear Parents & Guardians,

Our CAT 4 [Cognitive Abilities Test] assessment tests for our incoming First Year students take place on this Saturday 2 February 2019 from 9.30 to 12.30pm. Please note the following information:

  • The test will take place in the College sports hall.
  • Students will have a short break during the morning.
  • Students are asked to bring a light snack for this break.
  • Students should bring a pencil and eraser with them.
  • Students do not need any other stationery.
  • Students must attend in their Primary School Uniform

Please note First Year classes in Glanmire Community College operate strictly on a mixed ability basis. The CAT 4 Assessments are used to access information about your child’s strengths, weaknesses and preferred learning styles. CAT assessments are also used, in combination with your son/daughters STen scores from primary school to track your child’s progress and monitor if they are performing to ability.

We look forward to seeing you on Saturday morning.
